W elcome to Moyzis Laboratory at Genome.uci.edu! Our laboratory is based in the University of California at Irvine and funded by the National Institute of Health and the Department of Energy. Our major research goals are focused on 1) using genome technology and information to identify and sequence genes/DNA regions involved in human chromosome stability, with emphasis on telomeres and centromeres(DOE Genome Research), and 2) exploiting and developing new technology to assess human DNA variability with emphasis on complex (neurogenetic) traits(National Instiute of Mental Health, National Institue of Child Health and Human Development, and National Institue on Aging).

Headed by Dr. Robert K. Moyzis and led by senior professionals like Dr. Deborah Grady, we have much to offer to the world of biomolecular research and the Human Genome Project. Our lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and powered by dedicated researchers and faculty members. UCI DNA Sequencing Core

More than 130 publications from this research facility are listed in our database (search here!). News:PNAS article published: Global Landscape of Recent Inferred Darwinian Selection The data is now available for download.
